Academic Bios: Tim Lanzendörfer

Who are we? Well as we would say in the form of the academic bio:

Tim Lanzendörfer is an American literary studies scholar by training, currently working at Goethe University, Frankfurt, in Germany. In his current research project, funded by the German Research Foundation, he works on literary theory, the contemporary novel, and the relationship between literary studies and the public. He’s one of the co-facilitators of the Academic Forms network, together with Fábio Akcelrud Durão, a network that stems from a simple question they both puzzled over: what do the forms of our profession do for, or to, our work as scholars? For Tim, one of the crucial questions is the relationship between academic forms and public knowledge, the question of how the forms in which we work impact for whom that work is useful. When he’s not working on academic forms, his work revolves around public humanities questions and, most recently, the aesthetic of video games. If you’d like to know a bit more, you can find Tim’s website here  and send him an email here: tlanzend AT em.uni-frankfurt.de.
